God’s plan

November 6th, 2007 by erwinda

Have you ever heard a commonly verse that “GOD works in a mysterious way”? Well….kind of agree with that verse right now. I really don’t know what God’s way is for me right now.

When I’m feeling down in my work and seem to me that the only way out is out of this audit life….and seems to me that the way out was just in front of me…God give me an obstacle so I have more time to think….

When I’m feeling lift up again in my work and that I have give up over the way out and it was no longer in my mind….God give me a possible way out again…

Huaaaa….really don’t know what You want to do in my life…. But really give and trust all my life in Your hands….

Bali Part 1 (continued)

June 24th, 2007 by erwinda

Day 3 - Tuesday

We start the day with swimming around 30 minutes due to we have to rush to attend the breakfast on the hills programme that the hotel provided. We had breakfast up in some hills near the hotel. The scenery was amazing. We can see the blue ocean and white beach from up above. Really am extraordinary…. After that we head back to the hotel to have our real breakfast and took some pictures in the beach. We headed back to the port to take the feri back to Bali. In this feri we got cheated by some of local punk which rent us a place upstairs where they said was air-conditioned after the ship start to sail. But the fact is that room can be seated with free of charge and the air condition is out of order. After eating some of the food that we bought in the port (consist of rice and tiny chicken which after I almost finish it, I saw a little white caterpillar moving around the rice…. – really am suggesting not buying any food from the port), we end up sitting in the porch bench. The ride to Bali takes longer which consume almost 5 hours due to the high tide. After arriving at Ratih’s aunt house, we quickly took some shower and headed to Ryoshi (a Japanese restaurant) to have dinner. Afterwards, we quickly headed to Ratih’s grandfather house at Gianyar to stay there. We arrive really late around 12 or 1 AM. Head straight for sleep!

Day 4 – Wednesday

We decided to depart a little late since we want to give Ratih time with her grandfather. We headed to Pura Besakih around 9/10 AM. Pura Besakih is the largest temple in Bali. And my tip for this place is: please use the motorcycle service (around Rp 3,000) to go up since apparently, 1 KM up the hills really worn you out, especially for someone that never have exercise like me….. The temple is beautiful, and very large. We took some pictures there and listen to the tour guide that we have hired to explain regarding the temple. After that on our way back, we manage to buy some Balinese sarong and straight looking for a restaurant for dinner. We found a restaurant named Green-hills. The scenery was good but the food was kind of disappointing especially if you look at the price. We hurried back to Ratih’s grandfather’s house and Mike give us half and hour to shop in Sukawati. I only manage to buy some clothes and a bag for gift to my family and friend. After Sukawati we rush the car to chase the sunset at Tanah Lot temple. Unfortunately, we did not manage to catch the sunset in time but still enjoy our visit since the place is wonderful! The temple was made above the rock but it’s too bad the erosion have made them separated from the mainland. Leaving Tanah Lot, we head back to Legian. We have book a place in Oasis hotel. The hotel was far worst than Novotel but since we only there to sleep so can’t complaint much. After taking a shower, we headed to take dinner at Athmosphere Café in Discovery Mall. The Café was wonderful! We reserved a place in the porch with a view to the ocean! Unfortunately, Ratih have her sudden attack of toothache. So we hurried back to the hotel to get our sleep.

Day 5 - Thursday

Our last day in Bali! We spent it by going to a shop named Titiles. The shop was quite famous about their pork sausage. The shop owner is a fan of wild animal so in front of his shop, you can see some tiger, lion, cobra, turtle, parrot, fish, crab, dogs, etc. The coincidence is that when Yuli wants to take a picture of the lion who was sleeping, the Lion suddenly wakes up and make love so Yuli hurried up to take their picture. Mike calls the picture as photo of the year! After shopping for some gifts, we headed back to Kuta to have lunch. We have lunch in Bubba Gump Shrimp & Co. This restaurant use Forest Gump as their theme. There is a sign in the table that shows “run forest run” and “stop forest stop”. If you want the waiter to serve you, simply change the sign from run to stop. I order the shrimp bucket which was one of the restaurant specialties. For your information, the food was not bad but not that delicious also. The price was kind of expensive but since it was the only restaurant in Indonesia so I think it was worthwhile. During the lunch, Mike was busy in arranging his flight to Jakarta since it was being delayed so there is a chance that he could not made the flight to Australia. I’m also busy in buying a shirt for my brother, it’s a funny shirt with a writing in it “stupid is as stupid does. Hence the both of us have passed the photo section….Well still has another time to took picture there. With a full stomach, we headed back to our hotel by walking so we can shop till we drop. I made a little tattoo (a Chinese alphabet: “AI” which means “Love”  my middle name in Mandarin) in my left foot. The man who painted the tattoo apparently had a crush on Mei2 so he gave her a free tattoo. I also manage to buy some necklaces and key chains. In our way back, Ratih have a sudden attack of toothache AGAIN! So Mei, Ratih and me hurried our way back to the Hotel. We depart from the hotel around 4 PM to the airport and when we arrive there, we were being told that our flight have been delayed to 10 PM due to bad weather. So we end up in the airport KFC and sight seeing the shop around terminal 7. The price in the airport shop was approximately two or three times higher than the price in the original shop such as the shop in Sukawati or Titiles so better not to shop in the airport. Around 10 PM, we flew to Jakarta and arrive in Soekarno Hatta around 11 PM and straight went to bed at home. Well the vacation was wonderful but over in a blitz of time……Thankful to God for his blessing in allowing me to have a vacation there and hopes that someday will have a chance to come back to that wonderful Island. We all say good bye to Bali and will say hello again in a couple of weeks….

Bali Part 1

June 24th, 2007 by erwinda

This month is the happiest month ever for every auditor in PWC because we are entering low season which means rarely having client (although, thanks to Telkom, we all still having some clients). And thanks God we have low season coz if not I will not have any time to breath and took some vacation. With some of my friends in PWC, I have arranged to have a trip to Bali from 3 – 7 June 2007. My division have also arranged an outing to Bali from 17 – 19 June 2007 but I will tell you all about it in another blog. Since I have never visit Bali so I will enjoy every trip that I will take at that place.

Day 1 - Sunday

We arrive in Ngurah Rai using Air Asia around 12 PM and headed directly to Ratih’s aunt’s house in Jimbaran. We planned to stay there since Ratih wants to meet her relatives and the most important thing was that it was FREE…huehehehehe….After dropping our luggage there, we went to have lunch. Ratih’s aunt suggested that we eat in Warung Bu Tinuk but… apparently Ratih doesn’t know the way around Bali although her mother was from Bali so we end up to eat in Warungku at Galeria Mall. With a full stomach, we headed to Joger to buy some gifts. I manage to buy a shirt for my bear and a beautiful pink gift bag that can be folded into small pieces. After that we headed back to take shower while the boys went to the airport to pick Mei who used the afternoon flight. After shower, we all went to Jimbaran for dinner. We eat seafood in Wayan Café in the open air beside the beach hence we could hear the sound of the wave and the lights from Kuta and the airport while eating delicious food. The scenery was amazing, the food was good, the price was also cheap (only around Rp 268K), and the most important thing was that it’s all FREE because Ratih decided to treat us since it was her birthday (happy b’dae girl!). After dinner, we headed back to the Ratih’s aunt’s house and feeling bad because they have to sleep outside the room. We decided that after coming back from Lombok, we will not sleep there since it was very unpleasing to see the guest outwits the house owner.

Day 2 - Monday

We all went to Lombok using Feri ship from Padang Bae, the ride takes around 4 hours. The ship condition was rather good with air conditioner. But all the way to Lombok, the television kept turning some songs with strange language (like Campur Sari song). It really is irritating! After arriving in Lombok, we all looked for lunch and based on recommendation from Novi’s friend, we eat in a restaurant name Kania 1. The restaurant serves chicken Taliwang which was Lombok’s specialties chicken. The food was good and with good price also. With a full stomach, we headed to Senggigi beach. After snooping around, we notice that there was nothing interesting in that beach so we headed to Kuta beach and reserve a place in the Novotel. The Novotel – Kuta Lombok really ROCKS! The four stars hotel really deserve the stars…The view was amazing, the swimming pool was good, the room and the bathroom was wonderful. Really enjoy my time staying at that place and really missed my bear so much…

Hmmm…..waiting is not a fun job to do but at least I have the chance to write this BLOG after a very long time….Now, where do I start my story???? Really am confused since there are a lot of story to be share since my last writing in June 2006.

Maybe I start by reviewing my hopes in 2006 which were:

1. Try to make God happy by trying not to be late going to church again and try to serve Him again

Well….to tell you the truth…not to successful in accomplishing this hope

2. Buy a car by the end of 2006

About this, I am proudly to announce that I succeeded in buying a car (credit of course) around February 2007….what a wonderful feeling of having my own car and I am so happy watching my parents happy and proud of me…But gees if I have only know that a car is very expensive….I would buy it anyway but with a more thoughtful consideration

3. Passed the PPAK programmed with a good grades

Well happy to announce that I am able to pass 2 semesters with a very good grades (thanks to the Lord help) and this Friday I will start my 3rd semester which was my final semester

4. Promoted into senior associate level

Thanks to all of your prayer, I am able to be promoted into senior associate level…but gees…it is a very hard level…..so still need all of your prayers so I can pass all and all…or maybe got myself a very good job outside auditor life… :p

Can’t wait the busy season to be over…It should have been over in March right?? Wrong….coz I got a Japanese Company client hence I will be busy until May… Hiks Hiks… but can’t wait until June since I have a plan to go on a vacation to Bali with my friends (I never go to Bali) and also around June the Company usually have outing…Last June we went to Umang island and all of us here are hoping that this year we can go to somewhere outside this country…. (Crossing my fingers)….

Ok…that’s all from me for now since I need to go back to work right now…. C u all in the near future…

PULAU UMANG ROCKS…..

June 28th, 2006 by erwinda

PULAU UMANG ROCKS…..

I just get back from Pulau Umang…. And as I have promise before…I will give the full story to all of you…

Pulau Umang is a private island in the west of Java so it’s a very long ride to reach that island. We depart from Plaza 89 at 07.00 but I have to arrive in the office at 06.00 because I have been very unfortunate caught by the chief of committee to be the bus coordinator. From the office we took the highway road and stop in Serang to use the toilet and coordinate all the bus (8 buses). After that we took the route passing Anyer and Carita to Desa  Sumur. From Desa Sumur, we took the motor boat with a capacity of 25 people to Pulau Umang. We finally arrive in Pulau Umang at 14.00 so the total ride to the island of 7 hours… a very long ride! But… worthy every single step of the way…. Coz the Island ROCKS!!!!

We started our first activity in the island with none other than… LUNCH…and took some pictures. After lunch we headed straight to our room… and gosh… the room rocks…. It is a two floor wooden room. The first floor contains the sofa, sofa bed, TV, telephone, and bathroom. The bathroom was made as if it is an outdoor bathroom with shower, rocks, pots, and daylight sun coming in from above. The second floor was the bedroom (it is actually the cellar of the house). The bedroom has 1 single large bed with dark glooming lights… so romantic for honeymooners…

The island has 30 cottages which mean 60 rooms (1 cottage = 2 rooms). The island has two areas the Sunrise room and the Sunset room. I got room number 215 which was the Sunset room. It has a view of the sunset which was so beautiful…

After getting cosy and took some pictures again we headed back to the function hall. Fun games await us…. The games were a team building games…which force us to go around the island to reach each pit-stop and be given assignment…. Our team was the second team that arrive in the final pit stop. The assignment was to find a hidden treasure which was a rope to tie the team’s flag to the pole. We try to find it using the clue but can’t seem to find it neither the other team. The only team that could find it was the first team that arrive to the pit stop…

After the fun games, we headed for a coffee break in the function hall and headed back to the room to take a bath and get ready for the evening event. When we headed back to the room, Welly, Budi, Ratih were taking some pictures with a sunset background so… I join the club… ^o^…… the pictures taken were so cool….

After taking a bath…we went to the open air restaurant to have dinner, watch the show perform by the associate #30 new and old, and listen to the door prizes’ winner. I didn’t get any prizes but enjoying every moment that happened there.  After the show, some of the people watch the football game of England VS Ecuador in the big screen at the hall, some played the billiard, some sing the karaoke, and some took some more pictures or go back to the room. I myself go to the harbour with Budi, Novi, Mei, and Ratih to take some more pictures. After that I headed back to the karaoke room but only able to sing 1 song coz it is already crowded with people… I think the best voice at that night was Mike…he has a wonderful voice…. He should sing in the public more often. After done with singing, I went to the side to see some people played the card but didn’t join the game…just like watching…After all of that I headed back to the room by myself coz Angel, Angie, and Ibeth (my roommate) and also Budi, Welly, Tonny, Chandra, Ratih, Laura, etc had already gone back to the room while Novi, Mei, Mike still want to stay at the hall playing card and sing. At my way back to the room, I met my manager and his friends that also went back to the room after watching the football game (by the way…England won thanks to David Beckham and his free kick).

I offer the girls in my room that I rather sleep alone in the extra bed below than sleeping together in one bed coz didn’t have the freedom to move if the four of us sleep in the same bed… and I also want to hang out in the guy’s room along with the other girls. At 1 AM I went back to my room and sleep.

I wake up at 6 AM and based on the plan that have been made by my roommate, we suppose to go out to the swimming pool but the morning chillness have made me withstand myself to follow the girls to the swimming pool. So I take a long morning bath and tidy up my belongings so it is ready to be carried out at departure time. After taking a bath, I went to the restaurant with the boys to have breakfast. Take some of the porridge, omelette, and juice.

After breakfast, the original plan was to have a SPA with my roommates but being infiltrated by the gank to go out to the Pulau Oar which was more tempting and memorable than taking a SPA in the room with no photos to be taken and can also be done in Jakarta so I cancelled my SPA meeting and said millions of apology to my roommates…SORRY girls…Photos are more tempting than SPA… ^o^

And OOO…MY…GOSH…. I did not regret taking that decision coz Pulau Oar (around 15 minutes by boat from Umang) was so beautiful… it has white sands (whiter than Umang’s) and the rocks were amazing. Some people went to take a ride in the Banana Boat, Jet Ski, Snorkelling, or just playing with the white sands and the blue water. Unfortunately, I can’t swim so I can’t join the activities there but able to took some pictures (well…to be honest…many pictures…huehehehehe).

Head back to Umang with dirty clothes (regretting…why I didn’t wear shorts from the first time…. instead of long pants of jeans which was so heavy after taking the sea water and sands). Immediately take a bath after arriving in the room (my room mates have already finish with the SPA). Tidy up my belongings again and immediately went to the restaurant to have lunch. Finish with lunch and waiting for departure time (14.00) so we took some more pictures again (Gila…gue banci foto banget yah di sini biarlah sekali-kali ini kan…huehehehehehe…).

Head back to Jakarta using the Padalarang - Serang route which supposed to save us 30 minutes but thanks to the no good driver it makes us slow down 30 minutes….so we arrive in Jakarta – Plaza 89 at 8.30 PM.

All and all…. Really enjoy my time there but unfortunately we only spent 2 days and 1 night there…. too little time to be spent in such wonderful place. But if you ask me: Would you go back there someday? Damn sure I will…… and I recommend that all of you to check that place out too… but be sure to spent more than 1 nights there with someone special in your heart……
